Course Structure

A usual BS degree program includes required core courses, optional elective courses, and often a final project or thesis. Core courses give basic knowledge in the subject, while electives let students study what interests them more. The final project or thesis helps students use what they’ve learned in a real or research situation.

BS leading to MS

A BS degree is typically the prerequisite for a Master of Science (MS) degree.

Credit Hours

A typical BS degee program usually requires around 120-130 credit hours.

Number of Semesters

A 4-year BS degree program typically consists of 8 semesters (2 semesters per year).

General Admission Process for Undergraduate Admission

Academic Eligibility

To qualify for a BS degree program at BRAINS, you need a high school diploma or 12 years of education (FA/FSC) with a minimum of 45% marks. For Computer Science, the requirement is 50% marks, and for PEC Programs, it’s 60% marks. Marks in relevant subjects may also be considered. Some programs may require an entrance test or interviews.

From ADP/BSc/BA to BS: Navigating the Exemption and Bridging Process

A 2-year ADP/BSc/BA can lead to a 4-year BS degree. Students can get exemptions and, according to the policy, can start from the 5th semester. Students should check their exemptions with the Examination Controller before admission.

Apply Online Form or Download Form

Once you have determined the undergraduate program you wish to apply to, you must complete and submit the application. You will need to provide personal information, academic records, test scores, and any other required documentation.

Merit Calculation

Merit based on multiple factors, including your academic performance, entry test scores, and sometimes an interview or other evaluation criteria.  Merit list will be communicated via email, Notice board or website. 

Acceptance and Enrollment

If you receive an offer of admission, you will be required to confirm your acceptance by submitting the necessary documents and paying any applicable fees. This process may involve submitting attested copies of your academic documents, undertaking medical examinations, and providing other required information.

Class and Course Calendar

The undergraduate degree program schedule and course calendar are conveyed to students through the notice board on the student portal.

Scholarship

BRAINS provides a variety of scholarships based on merit and financial need for eligible students. Here’s a brief overview

Need-Based

Tuition Fee Waiver & Loan: This scholarship can cover from 20% up to 100% of the tuition fee for the program. The amount of financial aid is reassessed each academic year, taking into account the financial need of the student.

Merit Scholarship

BRAINS acknowledges and rewards high-achieving students. Exceptional students are chosen to receive the BRAINS Merit Scholarships based on their superior academic performance

National Outreach Program

This esteemed scholarship program aims to identify and enroll bright students with outstanding Matriculation and FA/FSc results into the BRAINS Undergraduate Programs. Full financial assistance is provided to the scholars who qualify for the NOP.
