I am honored to lead the Faculty of Computing at a time when advanced technology plays a critical role in thriving and competing in the knowledge economy. Our faculty is constantly evolving, introducing new disciplines and specializations to keep pace with the ever-changing technological landscape.

Recognizing the modern world’s reliance on information technology, the programs offered by our department are designed to develop computer scientists who can reach new heights in technological innovation and enhancement to shape a better future. Our programs are accredited by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and to achieve excellence, we strictly adhere to the standard curriculum guidelines set by HEC.

Through excellence in research, education, and service, our dedicated faculty has distinguished itself in core areas of computer science and various multidisciplinary fields. We continue to emphasize diversity in our hiring practices and strongly support the creation of a diverse workforce through our student recruitment and retention programs.

The future presents numerous challenges. The design of computers is constantly evolving: multi-core processors have emerged and are quickly replacing the single-CPU/single-core desktops and laptops. Entertainment—such as games, movies, and music—now relies heavily on high-performance computing. Computer hardware and software are integral to the devices and equipment we use daily, making them essential sources of versatile functionality and a key driver of the global economy. National and international projects in science and engineering increasingly depend on computer science as a vital tool for progress and management. Our faculty and staff are committed to providing flexible, relevant, and engaging education at both undergraduate and graduate levels to produce a workforce capable of meeting these diverse challenges.
